Solar Panel Installation

Connection Guide for Solar Panels

install solar panelsConnecting the solar panels means that the connection between two or more panels. Why you want to link the panels together? The wiring is useful in cases where the solar panel in place that provides enough voltage to charge a battery when enough current to power a few devices, or when a specific voltage and sufficient current. Instead of having the smallest group, they already have and try to find a more perfectly to your needs, simply link your existing small solar panel with other small groups.

Connecting solar panel allows you to get any voltage and current you need in your solar system. Connect the panels is not very complicated, and can be learned and applied by DIY all people tend to create their own solar system they need.

There are 3 types of wiring configurations easy to learn:

1. Series wiring.
2. Parallel wiring.
3. Series / parallel wiring.

To better understand the different wiring configurations, we note that all DCs (DC – electric current always flows in one direction) of the generator (battery or solar panel) has a negative and positive terminal. In these devices, the current flow from the negative (black) to positive (red) terminal.

Series Circuit

A sequence of all solar panels in series, you must connect the positive (red), the terminal of a panel to the negative (black) the other group. With all the wiring of solar panels, voltage (volts) is additive, while the current (amperes) remains the same.

If connecting 2 solar panels (each with a nominal 20 volts, 5 amps) in series, then this is the whole solar system 40 times (20 20), and the total current of 5 amps (unchanged) .

Parallel circuit

A string of any solar panel in parallel, connect the red (positive) terminal of a panel to the positive (red), a group of other parking and the negative (black) terminal of a panel to that the negative (black) of another panel. With the wiring of solar panels in parallel, the voltage (volts) is the same as the current (amps) is additive.

If connecting 2 solar panels (each with a nominal 20 V, 5 A), in parallel, so this will be the solar system voltage of 20 volts (no change) and the current total of 10 Amps (5 + 5).

Series / parallel circuit

A string of all solar panels in series / parallel, you must first connect the panels together in series and then connect each of these groups in parallel. This type of cable is useful if, for example, wants to increase the load capacity of 100 amp solar panels, but also the need to maintain the network to 80 volts.

The tax on the circuit of the individual series (4 panel of 20 volts each) to give the desired voltage (80 volts), while the five parallel channels, as spinning is the current (100 Amp).

Connect the solar panel is not as complicated as it seems. Learn to connect the solar panels and help you get any voltage or current you need in your system to any device you want to do and to recharge a battery, etc.
